Everyone realizes that digital technologies and globalization will have major consequences on the functioning of our societies. However, with an increasingly chaotic situation both internationally and in each country, these consequences are difficult to predict. The ambition of my essay is nevertheless to provide concrete answers to this question.

In the first part, I analyze the evolution of human societies from the first groups of homo sapiens to the nation-states of today, in order to distinguish their constant orientations and main mechanisms. In the second part, I draw up an inventory of social organizations at the beginning of the 21st century, with their achievements and their weaknesses. Finally, in the third part, by deduction from the elements thus established, I describe the type of society towards which humanity tends.

This essay is not a reflection on the ideal society nor a thesis on the improvements necessary for our societies. The social organization described in the third part may seem surprising, even shocking, but it is the one that is deduced from the facts of observation.
